Is it normal: for my neck to pop every time I turn my head?

Answer: Sometimes! There are lots of things that can pop inside your neck – ligaments, tendons, and joints. People with arthritis in their spine will often have more popping and cracking sounds, which can be normal. Sometimes it means you’re due for some chiropractic care. We’ve found that when your neck starts to pop every time you turn it, and gets increasingly stiff, this means that some joints are stuck, and some are too loose (causing the popping). Chiropractic care helps with that.

Bottom line – if you’re having painful popping in your spine, or you’re having other signs of problems like pain or stiffness, see your chiropractor. Don’t get into the habit of making your neck pop many times a day – your joints aren’t supposed to do that.
