Sometimes hormones keep your brain awake, sometimes you have to get up to pee several times a night, and sometimes your hips hurt too badly to sleep! Usually, regular adjustments help you sleep much more comfortably during pregnancy. And pillows – lots of pillows! Pillows between both knees and ankles support the pelvis. Another pillow to hug or one under your belly helps, too. Those giant horseshoe-shaped pregnancy pillows give many women relief. If the sides of your hips get painful later in pregnancy, an extra mattress pad may be the solution. My favorite was a thick egg crate foam.
